The right show pad size provides balanced coverage while allowing your saddle and work pad to fit comfortably. Use this guide to help select the best size for your horse and setup.
HOW OUR SIZES WORK
Show pad measurements are written as SPINE LENGTH × TOTAL WIDTH.
For example, a 34 × 40 show pad measures 34 inches along the spine and 40 inches across from side to side.
The second measurement is the pad’s total width. Divide that number by two to estimate the drop on each side.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
ALLOW EXTRA LENGTH
We recommend choosing a show pad with a spine at least 2 inches longer than your work pad. This allows approximately 1 inch of the show pad to extend beyond the work pad at both the front and back.
CHOOSE YOUR DROP
The second measurement determines the total width and side drop. Choose the amount of coverage that looks and feels best with your horse, saddle, and riding setup.

34-inch spine, 40-inch total width, and approximately 20 inches of drop on each side.

OVERSIZED
34-inch spine, 42-inch total width, and approximately 21 inches of drop on each side.
34 × 44
OVERSIZED PLUS
34-inch spine, 44-inch total width, and approximately 22 inches of drop on each side.

- Don’t overthink it. Show pad sizing also comes down to the amount of coverage and drop you prefer.
- Measure your current work pad and choose a show pad with at least 2 additional inches along the spine.
- Eligible returns of standard-sized show pads are accepted according to our Return Policy.
- Mini, Small Pony, Large Pony, Arabian, and all other specialty-sized pads are final sale.
